This wine is, without question, the plushest, most velvety shiraz that I have tasted all year. It’s from a producer who knows their way around shiraz and this is the top of their range. There’s a family resemblance in the wines of ripe, full, firm palates with well-integrated tannin and good length.
This wine is a step above all of their other wines with dense, dark fruit in a bigger-than-big, bolder-than bold package - the wine and the luxuriously heavy bottle. It’s a complex wine with chocolate, mocha and earthy notes on the nose. The palate is an interplay of tannin, baking spice, and all the red berries and fruits you can imagine, resting in a bed of velvety texture. The wine is at the peak of it’s drinking window and with so much density, will be drinking very well and evolving slowly over the next 5-10 years. This has all you could want in a super-premium shiraz - so, if this sounds like your kind of wine, I’d suggest you click buy, and maybe add a couple to your cart.
What is a Black Market deal?
Black Market deals are only made possible if we don’t reveal the maker’s brand on site. The wines are the genuine article – absolutely no cleanskins or fake brands, just dangerously good value. You won’t find out what it is until it hits your doorstep, but you won’t regret it. Just keep it on the down low.
