The Lucky Dip Case is back! The first time we did this, we broke the internet. This time we’ve bubble-wrapped the servers because they’re in for another beating.

Every case contains the same wicked rosés, including some of our absolute faves here at the ‘fo. They’re all delightfully delicious. All mofo standard - i.e. nothing we haven’t enjoyed ourselves.

Then there’s the added excitement of a chance at your sixth wine being…

An iconic Dom Perignon Champagne 2012 -

(1 in 100 chance)

A Champagne Carbon Rosé worth $500 -

(1 in 75 chance)

A bottle of Nicolas Maillart Brut Rose Grand Cru NV worth $150 -

(1 in 50 chance)

An aged, Tasmanian traditional-method sparkling rosé (at a minimum)

We should say up front: there are no returns on this - click here for case terms and conditions. As it’s a Lucky Dip, it would be unfair to other mofos running in the draw.

The easiest way to guarantee yourself a bottle of one of these Champagnes is to go out and buy one for yourself. If you, like me, don’t have $500 handy, this is definitely your best (and cheapest) option! Heard enough already? Pop that case in the cart and cross your fingers and toes! Otherwise, read on for a bit more info on all those lovely wines:

The Wild Card Wines

Wild Card Wine #1

Dom Perignon Champagne 2012

97pts James Suckling | 97pts Antonio Galloni | 96pts Robert Parker

“Wonderful elegance and balance to this Dom Pérignon with cooked apple, lemon and hints of white pepper and salt. It’s medium-bodied with really fine bubbles and balance. Spicy at the end. So wonderfully fresh, linear and long. Racy and elegant. A DP that invites to drink right now. All about finesse. Tension, too, with precise phenolics and bright acidity on the back palate. Subtle energy. Drinkable now, but will develop beautifully in the bottle” – James Suckling

Wild Card Wine #2

Champagne Carbon Rosé NV

Founded in 1920, Champagne Carbon is a 5th generation family operation combining age-old tradition with modern ingenuity. ‘Carbon’ isn’t just a fancy name - each bottle is wrapped in a layer of carbon fibre, a process that required four years research and development before the first prototype was released. Every single bottle takes 21 precise steps across an entire week to complete.

This is 50% chardonnay, 25% pinot noir and 25% pinot meunier that is aged in oak and finished with a barely perceptible 9 g/L dosage. It’s salmon in colour, aromatic and bright. Look for strawberry, cherry and violet on the nose with hints of orange peel, citrus tang and more strawberry coming through on the palate. Certainly a ‘show-off’ wine of the finest order, but not just because of the impressive packaging...the real magic is in the wine inside.

Wild Card Wine #3

Nicolas Maillart Brut Rosé Grand Cru NV

94pts Tyson Stelzer | Top 25 Champagne Rosé - Tyson Stelzer

With Tyson Stelzer, the go-to wine critic on all things Champagne classing this Grand Cru Rosé in his top 25 rosé of the year (From his annual Champagne guide, 2020-2021), you know you’re onto a good thing.

Nicolas is the ninth generation of the Maillart family to practice quality winemaking. They’ve been working the vines since 1753 and 260-ish years later, this Grand Cru rosé has proven itself to be kind of a big deal. Bursting with creamy bubbles, there are notes of white cherry and blossoms with a touch of lemon zest on the finish. It won 92 points from Wine Spectator thanks to its “mouthwatering acidity” and will go down a treat at any celebration, an iconic import that’ll impress to no end.

Wild Card Wine #4

Taltarni Taché Sparkling Rosé 2015

Tasmania, AU

5 Red Star Halliday Rated Winery | Mofo Fave

This is an absolutely stunning example of Champagne-method Tasmanian sparkling. The lifted fruit, crisp acid, and fine-bead mousse make you feel like you’ve just walked out of Paris’s Café Joyeux Champs-Élysées and straight onto Monaco’s Boulevard Albert 1st. Too pretentious for you? Don’t be dissuaded; this stunner has the all-rustic charm from its old vineyard, plus lees and oak to give it an excellent toasty complexity. Outstanding. You know it’s good because it’s what everyone at the ‘Fo will be drinking this summer.
