Shiraz 2013 – Unicorn #45525

Sometimes wines come along that you could really just get out your knife and fork and dive into. This is a prime example of just that; not for its weight or density, but for it’s satisfying-to-drink quality that makes you want to chew on it a little longer. From a single vineyard in the Eden Valley (read: the high point of the Barossa), this wine is marked by freshness and grace that has held it in spectacular shape for the last ten years .The swirls of cherry ripe amongst the salty, vegemite-y backbone are something too beautiful to describe. Layer that up with a good dose of leather and tobacco from a good decade in the bottle and we’re on track to doing this wine justice. This is perhaps too good to describe, you’ll just have to try it.
